Contemplation on the Odu Oshe Obara

There stands a tree
up on the hill
above my house
inhabited by a
flock of parrots
Each day they
clamor and sing
chirping and imitating
the passers by
much to their
surprise
So good are they
at the voices and sounds
that people often turn
as if hearing
ghosts
They're not so
different
from us
We are often just
parrots living in our trees
Blindly repeating what others say
Don’t give in to your
inner parrot
find your own voice
and sing your song
unabashedly
and
loudly
to the world
