Contemplation on the Odu Obara Odi (obara idi)
Let go of someday Embrace today Lest you find yourself Trapped in a room Stacked floor to ceiling with Unfinished plans Unable to find the door To your own freedom
Iboru iboya ibocheche, at last a true baba la awo, Congratulations on your book, Already have a copy. Love your reflections on the religion. Want to know your views on animals sacrifice. I'm an old disenchanted baba who is looking for answers .I just came to your writings yesterday and I feel in resonances with you views. My experience with Ifa had been one that is far away from what I see as spiritual. You seem to have the intelligence and spiritual insight of someone who is conscious. My encounter with baba la awo was one of disillusion in the amount of unconscious behavior I experienced with them and in the lack of spiritual concerns in the people in general. All this make me suspect that your spiritual insight have the support of something Outside of Ifa and your have rely on that support to comes to terms with Ifa.Do not misunderstand my view of Ifa , I believe as a Oracle is a depository of great wisdom, but as a religion as is practice today in the Americas not so.I just came across your book yesterday and based on it you can be the only true baba in the world today and if this is so then what you advocate is not ifa but Novo Ifa.The way I see your initiation into ifa came about when you was throw out of the ceremony and they saw you as anti lucumi.Lucumi as a religion or spiritual path I never heard about it.Actually I never heard of an afrikan religion. All I see is an observation about life in order to come to terms with spiritual realities.Hope I can heard from you and continue this conversation. Thank you
