Contemplation on the Odu Oyekun Meji

The afternoon light fills the room with
Warmth on this cold fall day
Jazz
Melts my brain like
Fondue on crunchy bread
Dripping my feelings onto the paper below
Silently
I enter the temple of the word
Heading straight for the
Confessional of a thousand pages
Baring my soul for all to
See
Looking for
Forgiveness
My contrition
A communion of paper and pen
Transpiring over and over again
Until there is nothing left but
Ashes
So I might rise again
Stronger
More hopeful
Full of
Love
